Counseling Department
Hello and welcome to Centerville's Counseling website!
As your counselors, our goal is to support the academic success of all students. We work with students to assist them with academic, career, personal, social, and emotional concerns. We also work with students and families to support students in any way ranging from behavior concerns, communicating with outside therapists and agencies, and successfully transitioning our students on to high school and beyond. Additionally, the Counseling Department will be offering small group supports and full-class presentations throughout the school year.
How to connect with counselors?
- Students can complete the self-referral form, come by anytime to make an appointment or drop in if we are available
- Parents and guardians, please feel free to call or email if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to set up a time to meet to discuss your student.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year here at Centerville and working with all of our students and their families.
All our best,
Imelda Garcia, Laura Schrenk & Beca Glaze
School Counselors
Mission statement
The mission of FUSD School Counselors is to provide equitable opportunities to Educate, Challenge and Inspire students of all ages, talents and ability levels, while striving to prepare each with the social/emotional, academic and career skills required to adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world.
Vision Statement
All students graduating from FUSD exemplify the Portrait of the Fremont Graduate.
As professional school counselors, we take pride in our role within schools and working with students with a variety of concerns, whether it is personal/social, academic, or career related. It is imperative to provide students a safe, reliable space when they feel they need the additional support from their school counselor. In alliance with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Ethical Standards, it is our responsibility to keep topics/issues discussed with students confidential, unless:
- the student reports that they are hurting themselves or want to hurt themselves
- the student reports someone else is hurting them or has threatened to hurt themselves
- the student reports that they are going to cause harm to another person
Under these circumstances, we make the professional decision to contact the appropriate authorities, including notifying parents/guardians. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
