Sport/Activity Description

Intramural sports are defined as "friendly competitions between students within the same school." We offer supervised matches with Badminton and Dodge Ball. As an integral part of our program, all other activities are enhanced with instruction from our Centerville Junior High teaching staff.

The program provides most of the necessary equipment for each activity.

Late afternoon and evening classes require adult pick up and sign out for student safety. Until further notice, spectators are not permitted in the gym.

TEAM HANDBALL

Boys and girls of both grade levels will learn how to play one of the fastest team sports in the world from instructors of the Cal Heat adult team (6 time U.S. national champions). This Olympic sport, similar to soccer, requires shooting towards a goalie in front of a net. However, players must use their hands rather than their feet to defend, attack and score. Using the goals at each end of our gym’s regulation size court, students will experience all the techniques of the sport—high speed dribbling, throwing, jumping and shooting.
